The IGO Nova Nickel Mine Site and Process Plant are located in the Fraser Range, approximately 160km east-northeast of Norseman, 360km southeast of Kalgoorlie and 380km from the Port of Esperance in Western Australia. The operation commenced in 2012 with a projected mine life of 15 years, producing Nickel, Copper and Cobalt.
Qetra were engaged to complete sustaining works on the processing plant and underground operations, including the paste plant. Our small and agile multidisciplinary crew were able to respond to packages of work quickly, leveraging off of our Wangara fabrication workshop.
Distinct workpacks were developed and executed both in and out of shutdowns. Through our innovative approach, the process plant life was able to be extended several years in line with the mine life.
